Judges
Dwight McKay |
This class will be on the Old Testament book of Judges and will describe the life of
Israel in the promised land from the death of Joshua to the rise of the monarchy. The
book of Judges contains some of the most fascinating personalities and memorable events
of the Old Testament. As we study this book, we will see that the judges were raised
up by the Lord to fill the authority vacuum in Israel between the strong leadership of
Moses and Joshua and coming of the kings. We will view the lives and work of the judges
against the background of life in Israel during the period, the occasions of need that led
to the rise of the individual judges and the continuing providence of God for his people. |
