Hospitality

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. — 1 Peter 4:8-11

The Hospitality Ministry seeks to support RPC’s mission to “be a stream of God’s refreshing grace for people from all walks of life” by honoring and obeying God’s command to show hospitality to others (Rom. 12:13, Heb. 13:2). It is our mission to use our gifts to build community within our congregation while we also seek to bless and serve others through showing biblical hospitality to everyone we encounter.

We come alongside and support various other ministries at RPC while also planning and hosting fellowship events. That kind of service takes various forms:

  • The Hospitality Ministry plans the annual RPC picnic, typically held in the summer.
  • When other committees or ministries ask for support in serving food, organizing volunteers, helping to set up or clean up for their events, we are called upon to help with those needs.
  • In the event of the death of a loved one, we assist families by planning and serving a luncheon, if so desired.
  • The Hospitality Ministry plans various fellowship events throughout the calendar year including Family Game Night, Movie Night, Potluck Lunches and more!

This list is by no means an exhaustive account of all the ways that the Hospitality Ministry serves at RPC, but it is a good start! If you are interested in finding out more about this ministry, what we do, or if you have suggestions for us, please contact Emily Rudy, Hospitality Committee Chairperson, via the church office.
